At least 91 institutions now have 2026/2027 admission lists out: 12 polytechnics, the Federal Unity Colleges, and 78 universities, several of which have already moved past their first list. The most recent university releases came between 6 and 8 October 2026 from Federal University Dutse, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Taraba State University, Federal University of Education, Pankshin and Osun State University, all uploaded on JAMB CAPS.
Here is the part most candidates miss: your name can be admitted even when your school never sends a press release or a WhatsApp bulletin. JAMB is under pressure to finish public university admissions by **31 October 2026**, so schools are pushing lists onto CAPS faster than they announce them on their own websites. If you are still waiting, check CAPS before you check any blog, including this one.
The other thing to understand is the new response rule. Under the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting guideline, a candidate who does not accept an admission offer inside the approved window (four weeks from the offer) forfeits it, and the slot goes to somebody else. Waiting “to see if UNILAG or UI will come” is now an expensive hobby.
What “admission list out” really means for 2026/2027
Nigerian schools do not release admission the way they did five years ago. There are now three different things people call “the list”:
– The school portal list — names published on your institution’s own admission page, sometimes with a batch number and an acceptance fee instruction. IAUE, SAZU, EAUED and UNIDEL handled their releases this way.
– The JAMB CAPS upload — the school recommends you, the Vice-Chancellor approves, and JAMB releases the offer on CAPS. This is the only version that counts legally. Admission outside CAPS is illegal admission for UTME and Direct Entry candidates.
– The matriculation list — a different document that comes later, after clearance and after your name reflects on JAMB. Keep the printed admission letter, because this is what protects your NYSC call-up in year four.
So when you search “my school admission list 2026/2027,” you are actually asking two questions: has the school released names, and has JAMB approved your offer? Check both places, in that order.

A quick caution on links: a school is not unreliable just because its website will not open when you search for it. Many Nigerian institution sites go offline mid-session or block automated visits. If a portal is down, treat JAMB CAPS as the authority and phone the registry through the number on the school’s last official notice.
Polytechnics that have released 2026/2027 admission lists

Polytechnic candidates should note two extra things. First, NBTE, not JAMB alone, drives the polytechnic calendar, and ND lists often appear in two or three batches, with schools still accepting late uploads for as long as vacancy permits. Second, for HND (Direct Entry) holders, admission is not valid without a statement of results plus NBTE classification verification; several schools upload the ND list first and hold the HND list until Senate approves.
How to check your admission status on JAMB CAPS (2026/2027)
Do this on a laptop, or on Chrome with Desktop site switched on. On mobile, the CAPS sidebar is not visible and the page is displayed as if it is an empty welcome screen, that alone has cost candidates their offers.
1. Go to https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng and log in with the email address and password on your JAMB profile. Ensure that the address is followed by .gov.ng, as fake websites are all over the place these days.
2. Select Check Admission Status.
3. Choose the year for the exam as 2026.
4. Type in your 10 digit JAMB Registration Number, then click on Access My CAPS.
5. Open Admission Status in the left sidebar. If you’ve been accepted into a school, your photo and offer information will be here.
6. If you have Transfer Approval in your sidebar, open it first and then go to the other tabs. If the school has changed your major from Law to CRS (or Medicine to Zoology), they must have your permission there before the primary Accept button will be unlocked.
7. Click Accept Admission (or Reject Admission) and confirm.
8. Once accepted, print your JAMB Admission Letter from the same portal, you will need it at clearance.
In the SMS alternative if data or network fails, you will send the acceptance from the same phone number that you have captured on your JAMB profile to 55019 or 66019. Standard SMS rates will be charged and stay on the line. This is a blind approach, where you don’t see anything on screen during its processing and it works only there where an offer exists on the portal. Please verify the change in the portal after.
Before anything else, confirm your O’level result is uploaded. Open ‘My O’Level’ inside CAPS. A blank page or an “Awaiting Result” message means no school can admit you cleanly, so carry your result to an accredited CBT centre now. With the 2026 NECO results released, candidates who were waiting on NECO should upload or verify promptly, because JAMB has told institutions to make use of those credentials as they intensify the exercise.
